Consul General Pat Scullion, in conjunction with IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, hosted a reception for Mr. Billy Kelleher TD, Irish Minister for Trade and Commerce, who was here in Sydney during the recent trade and investment mission to Australia, and for the Global Irish Network including members such as Paul O’Sullivan, CEO of Optus, Alan Joyce, Managing Director & CEO of Qantas, Frank Hargrave Founder of Skilled Engineering, Paul McCullagh founder of Pacific Equity Partners, Peter Brennan, Director of Fantastic Furniture and chairman of The Lansdowne Club Premier Irish Business network in Australia, Philip Cronin, General Manager of Intel Australia and many more . Also present at the reception was H.E. Máirtín ÓFainín, Executive Director of the Australian Ireland Fund and Manager of IDA Ireland, Teresa Keating and a number of Australian Ireland Fund Young Leaders.
The reception provided a great opportunity for captains of industry to meet with representatives of the Global Irish Network and for Young Leaders to meet some of the very impressive business leaders present.
Apologies were passed on from our Chairman, Charles Curran AC, who unfortunately had a prior commitment in Canberra, the chairman did however meet with the Minister in Canberra the night before.
Our thanks to Consul General Pat Scullion again for his generous hospitality.
