b'FALL / WINTERConnect2 0 1 3Dear Colleagues,The last eighteen years have been a wondrous adventure. Its been a privilege to serve as Chairman of ourgreat organization. Together with our generous Board Directors, dedicated staff, and all of you, we made anenormous impact over that period. We have done so not just through the grants we have made but as a network of advocacy constantly highlighting the energy and determination of the Irish. We played a keyrole in solidifying the Peace Process in Northern Ireland - especially on a social level - by helping to knittogether both communities.I am particularly proud of how we helped rescue young people from the prejudice of the past through our support ofintegrated schools.I am so pleased and proud of the fact that my successor will be John Fitzpatrick. He is deeply connected with our grantees and their work.He will lead this organization with vision, experience andcompassion at a time when Ireland has never needed it so much.I will remain deeply involved in the work of The American Ireland Fund and thank the Board for conferring upon me the title of Chairman Emeritus. As I have said, I am stepping down but not stepping away. I wish to thank each and every one of you for all of your generosity, care and kindness over the last 18 years. I am so grateful to have been part of this wonderful community andconfederation of concern.Kind regards,Loretta Brennan GlucksmanChairmanThe American Ireland Fundconnect2013 | 3'
