The award allows the student to study or undertake professional development in France. The 2012 recipients were clarinetist Leonie Bluett from Kilkenny and violinist Jennifer Murphy fromDundalk, Co Louth. Leonie plans to use the award to attend the 2013 Pablo Casals Festi-val in Prades and to study with clarinetist Michel Lethiec. Jennifer plans to use the award Barry Douglas, Leonie Bluett, Jennifer Murphy, ine Adsto take part in masterclasses at the Acadmie Internationale de Musique Maurice Ravel.The Franco-Irish Literary Festival APRIL2012 The theme of this year's festival was Pleasure. The first two days proceedings were in the Coach House at Dublin Castle and the final session, as usual, was the Literary Brunch at the Alliance Franaise. A highlight of this year was Peter Sirr interviewing Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney. Attendance was over 1500 and The IrelandFund of France was recognised as one of the main sponsors of the event.The Franco-Irish Literary FestivalThe Ireland Fund of France Piano InaugurationAt the recent inauguration of the piano jointly donated by The Ireland Fund of France andPaul & Moya Coulson, the world famous Irish pianist Mical O'Rourke regaled the chosenaudience of friends of Ireland with a repertoire of Beethoven, Chopin, Faur and Debussy.The encore rendering of An Culainn was a highlight of the evening. The Embassy now looksforward to future musical recitals by Irish and artists of many other nationalities on themagnificent Steinway which now sits proudly in the salon of the Embassy.
