Amongst those present were Her Excellency Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ambassador of Ireland and Honorary President of The Ireland Fund of France; His Excellency Jean Pierre Thbault, Ambassador of France to Ireland; John Fitzpatrick, Chairman of The American Ireland Fund; the Hon. John B Kane, board director of The American Ireland Fund; Le Comte Denis de Kergorlay,President of the Cercle de lUnion Interallie and Dominique Binet, Vice-President of Sourcing, Smurfit Kappa. The Bloomsday Dinner celebrated the ties of friendship between Ireland and France by supporting two associations work-ing to assist those affected by Huntington s disease. Anne Lennon Bird and Dr. Jennifer Hoblyn attended the dinner asrepresentatives of the Huntingtons Disease Association of Ireland and Dr. Brigitte Soudrie and Dr. Katia Youssov spoke on behalf of the Association Mdicale Hendayaise pour les Maladies Rares. A champagne reception was sponsored by Pernod Ricard and some excellent French wines and Irish beef were served thanks to the generous support of Domaine de la Solitude, Chteau Brane Cantenac and Dunleavy Meats. Mineral water for the dinner was kindly donated by For Uisce. A charity auction and tombola took place after the dinner and the goodwill of the evening was encapsulated in the moment when Madame Catherine ORourke presented a fellow guest with the Alice Archer dress she had won at the tombola.
