A reception was held at the Residence of the Irish Ambassador Geoffrey Keating 3Niamh Byrne, Noor Quek,Kieran McLoughlin,and his wife Jane to welcome over 90 friends of The Singapore Ireland Fund. Board members, donors and representa-Sue Meng Chan,tives of the Irish community including the Irish Chamber of Commerce, the Gaelic Lions GAA organization, the Irish Pamela ChngGraduates Association of Singapore, the St. Patricks Society and beneficiaries of The Singapore Ireland Fund turned up to a warm welcome by Ambassador Keating. The Ambassador welcomed Kieran McLoughlin, President & CEO of The Worldwide Ireland Funds who was visiting chapters in Singapore, China and Australia. Kieran provided those agathered with an update on the profound impact of the Promising Ireland Campaign on Irish charities and causes around the world. Dr. Stanley Quek, Chairman of The Ireland Fund of Singapore, officially launched the 2015 Emerald Ball, the main fundraising event on the Singapore calendar. On the following day, Kieran participated as guest speaker onResponsibility and Philanthropy: How Global Initiatives Translate Locally. The event, supported by The Singapore Ireland Fund, was held at the American Club in partnership with the Irish Chamber of Commerce (Singapore), the American Chamber of Commerce (Singapore) and the British Chamber of Commerce (Singapore). The event focused on the world of corporate and personal giving and its changing landscape. The panel of experts spoke about global trends, how they impact at a local level and how those trends were reflective of what was happening in Singapore. connect2015 | 105'
