Dr. Mahoney outlined the current challenges facing both the hospital andMartha Hayesthe health sector in Ireland and in particular; the crucial need for a new and improved facility as it is becoming increasing difficult for staff to deliver care to women and babies in sub-optimal conditions. Dr. Mahoney outlined herstrategic plan for dealing with these challenges and her aims through the Eisenhower Fellowship. She is focusing herFellowship on healthcare and philanthropy with the aim of building a new hospital where cutting-edge treatment andexcellent care can be given to patients.
