Based in Boston and supported by The Ireland Funds, the ISC listening line provides Irish and Irish American seniors with community referrals and a listening ear alleviating feelings of isolation and loneliness. To complement the listening line, ISC initiated awell-being check-in call service in February 2013 which offers a weekly or daily telephone call tocheck on the health and safety of seniors upon request. Response to these well-being check-in callshas been overwhelmingly positive.New York Irish Arts Center unveils plans for a new homeWith support from The Ireland Funds, the New York Irish Arts Center (IAC) has unveiled its Almost Home Campaign to establish a new building for the vibrant culture contributions the Center has been making for over 40 years. The new facility, slated for 11th Avenue,will include astate-of-the-art 199-seat theater, an intimate live music venue and caf, a dance studio designed for Irish dance, classrooms, a visual arts project space, a community garden and cutting edge digitaltechnology.
