6 The American Ireland Fund is committed to support projects across the island of Ireland that promote education cultural and community development and peace and reconciliation. Through the generosity of donors linked to Ireland by interest ancestry and compassion The American Ireland Fund provides ongoing support to organiza- tions whose initiatives directly serve the people of the island of Ireland. Our total revenue for 2014 exceeded 20 million for the fth consecutive year and only the seventh time in our 39 year history. Thanks to the generosity of our donors The American Ireland Fund awarded more than 24 million in grants and program services to 364 worthy projects in 2014 across the island of Ireland and Irish communities worldwide. The American Ireland Fund has achieved the highest recognition for its financial management and corporate governance in the US and has been used as a role model for other international diaspora fundraising organizations. We have achieved and maintained a 4 star out of 4 star status from Charity Navigator which is based upon Charity Navigators detailed and independent review of our financial management and reporting structure as well as our corporate governance and transparency policies.
