The Ballroom was decked out in true Gatsby style with feathers, flowers and balloons. The majority of the 350 guests cameenthusiastically dressed with their finest feathers and pearls. The big band regaled the audience with their 1920s music.Mrs. noor Quek, Board Member of The Singapore Ireland Fund, gave an impromptu rendition of the songs AutumnLeaves, I Love You for Sentimental Reasons and I Wish You Love. The audience was treated to a Ceili dancingdemonstration followed by live Irish music led by sharon Dunleavy. Proceeds from the live and silent auction items, including artwork, a trip to Ireland and gourmet dinners, were donated to Hospice Care in Singapore and PalliativeCare Training in Ireland. Representatives from HCA Hospice Care, metta Hospice Care and Assisi Hospice & palliativeCare received cheques totalling $400,000. Dr. stanley Quek thanked supporters, volunteers and exco members, in particular sheila Lim and Deirdre Hayes, for generously contributing to the success of the Emerald Ball.connect2014 | 101'
