Restoring a Beloved Landmark
Trinity College Dublin, founded in 1592, is Ireland’s oldest university and home to one of the world’s great libraries, famous for its historic Long Room and the treasured Book of Kells. The Ireland Funds is helping to preserve this iconic cultural landmark.
Grants from the Ireland Funds support Trinity College Dublin’s Old Library Redevelopment Programme by:
- Protecting 350,000 irreplaceable early printed books
- Improving visitor access with immersive exhibits and design updates
- Fostering scholarship with the Research Collections Study Centre
- Modernizing environmental control and fire protection measures
