Using Art to Inspire Change

The Ireland Funds has been a longtime supporter of the Playhouse Derry. Started during a time of conflict in Northern Ireland, their inclusive projects uplift underrepresented voices and explore themes of peace, justice, and diversity.

Grants from The Ireland Funds are making a difference by:

  • Supporting a welcoming, neutral space to connect across divides
  • Combating sectarianism and fostering trust through the Street Talk project
  • Showcasing the talents of local writers, actors, and other creatives
  • Serving a wide range of individuals with its strong focus on inclusion

[The Street Talk program] was a pilot project, and that two years of funding allowed us to prove that what we did works. It engages with the right young people, and it enables them to think about crime, justice and their community in a different way.
