Sensational Kids

We're Helping Children with Additional Needs Reach Their Potential

1 in 4 children in Ireland has a special educational need. The Ireland Funds works with numerous initiatives that focus on children with additional needs. Here are just two examples of what you've made possible.

Sensational Kids
Last year, The Ireland Funds' support meant that Sensational Kids could deliver 7,000+ reduced-cost therapy appointments to children with additional needs saving families over €441,211 in therapy fees.

Sadly, families often have to wait up to 4 years for speech and occupational therapy. The Ireland Funds helps Sensational Kids provide life-changing speech, language, and occupational therapies and compassionate care for children with intellectual disabilities from across the island of Ireland—all at a dramatically reduced cost. The generosity of our donors has made all this possible for Sensational Kids. THANK YOU.

Liquid Therapy in action

Liquid Therapy
One of the ground-breaking organizations we are proud to support through our Heart of the Community Fund 2023 is Liquid Therapy. The island of Ireland's only surf-based charity, Liquid Therapy has helped hundreds of families and kids with intellectual and physical challenges discover the excitement, health benefits, and transformational power of the ocean. Children experience a sense of inclusion and accomplishment many say they have never experienced before. This past summer, our donors enabled families to enjoy their services at no cost. THANK YOU.

“I believe strongly in ‘giving while living.’ I see little reason to delay giving when so much good can be achieved through supporting worthwhile causes today.” – Chuck and Helga Feeney

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Chuck Feeney, founding Chairman of the Atlantic Philanthropies. Chuck was one of the visionary philanthropists of our time and a devoted steward of the island of Ireland. His gifts, given anonymously for many years, helped a myriad of global causes ranging from education to public health. May his legacy of generosity be an inspiration to us all.

We could not have done this without the support of The Ireland Funds. It is transformational change for the children who benefit from our services.
