The roots of The Ireland Funds trace back to Pittsburgh

In 1976, Pittsburgh businessmen Tony O’Reilly and Ambassador Dan Rooney looked at the challenges facing the island of Ireland and established The Ireland Funds as a way for those with interest and ancestry to come together and do something truly practical and positive.

Today, that founding spirit lives in our Pittsburgh activities thanks to the generosity of our donors and the leadership of the Rooney Family.
